Founded 174 years ago, Kouichi Store is a long-established kimono maker. The experience begins at the historic tea room Rakuu-tei, located inside the serene Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Upon arrival, our staff will guide you through selecting your attire from a range of seasonal designs. Seasonal Note: From June 1 to September 30, we offer yukata (a lightweight summer kimono) instead of regular kimono, so you can enjoy the garden comfortably during the warmer months. The reception, selection, dressing, and simple hairstyling for women take approximately 60–90 minutes. Once dressed, you are free to explore the beautiful garden at your own pace in your kimono (or yukata). Please note that the final return time is 4:00 PM. To fully enjoy the garden experience, we recommend booking an earlier time slot. Our professional dressing team will assist you with everything you need—an obi belt, tabi socks, traditional sandals, and a Japanese-style handbag—ensuring a smooth and authentic experience. After your stroll through the picturesque garden, please return to Rakuu-tei for kimono removal.
