Asakusa Sumo Club Annex is a premium, more intimate branch of the popular Asakusa Sumo Club, offering a refined sumo entertainment experience in a cosy and private setting.
This is an immersive and entertaining sumo show where you can explore the culture of Japan’s national sport through its history, rules, rituals and traditions. The experience begins with a graceful geisha dance on stage, and after the performance you may take a photo with the geisha before moving on to an introduction to sumo history and culture. A real sumo ring is set in the centre of the restaurant, creating an authentic stage for the performance.
During the show, you can enjoy a delicious sukiyaki bento made with Japanese A5 rank wagyu beef, hearty chanko nabe and matcha dessert served in a comfortable and elegant environment, along with a wide selection of drinks including Japanese whisky, draft beer and soft drinks.
※Vegetarian meals are also available with advance notice at least two days before the show.
We are unable to accommodate vegetarian requests made on the day of the event, as we cannot
prepare the necessary ingredients.
You will watch real training techniques and see dynamic sumo bouts between our sumo wrestlers performed up close. Guests who feel brave are welcome to enter the ring and take part in this unforgettable sumo challenge.
※The number of challengers is limited for each performance, and if many guests wish to participate, the final participants will be chosen by drawing lots.
After the show, you will receive special souvenirs and a commemorative photo with the wrestlers. Everything takes place in a VIP style venue designed for a private, relaxing and luxurious experience.

Spacious sofa seating offering excellent visibility and a more relaxed, premium atmosphere.
• First Class (Front Row Sofa Seats)
Includes a sukiyaki meal, tempura, chanko hot pot, unlimited drinks including premium Japanese whisky such as Yamazaki, and an exclusive souvenir set with happi coat.
Front-row sofa seating closest to the ring for guests who want the most immersive experience.
