What you can expect
This private journey to Nagano offers a scenic escape into the Japanese countryside, combining nature, culture, and relaxation at a comfortable pace within a 10-hour charter.
Your day begins with a warm pickup by your professional private driver from your chosen location in Tokyo or Nagano. your driver will assist with navigation and basic support.
Sit back and enjoy a comfortable drive through the countryside, with beautiful mountain views and rural landscapes along the way. Travel time from Tokyo to the Nagano region typically takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours each way, making this a long-distance journey.
The main highlight of the tour is a visit to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, where you can observe wild Japanese macaques swimming in natural hot springs. To reach the park, you will enjoy a peaceful 60-minute walk through a forest trail. Please note that the entrance fee is not included and must be paid directly.
Depending on traffic conditions, timing, and your pace during the day, you may also have the opportunity to visit one additional location. Possible stops include:
Zenko-ji Temple, one of Japan’s most important and historic temples
Shibu Onsen, a charming traditional onsen village with narrow streets and historic bathhouses
Obuse, a small town known for its local sweets, art, and Edo-period atmosphere
Please note that it is not possible to visit all locations in one day when travelling from Tokyo due to time constraints. The itinerary is flexible, and your driver will help prioritise stops based on your preferences and available time.
Optional extended stops such as Matsumoto Castle or other distant attractions are generally not feasible within the standard 10-hour duration, especially for Tokyo departures.
Lunch is not included in the tour price. You may stop at a local restaurant during the day, and your driver can suggest suitable options upon request.
After your visit, relax on the return journey as you are dropped off at your original pickup location or preferred drop-off point.
This experience is ideal for travellers who want a private and flexible day trip focused primarily on the Snow Monkey Park, with the possibility of adding one additional cultural stop depending on time and conditions.
