A journey through stone, power, and passion to discover the magnificent Torrechiara Castle, one of the most scenic and best-preserved medieval fortresses in the Parma area.
Nestled in the foothills south of Parma, in a position overlooking the Parma Valley, the castle was the political and sentimental masterpiece of Count Pier Maria Rossi, a military leader in the service of the Visconti and Sforza families. But Torrechiara was not only an impregnable stronghold: it was also the place dedicated to his great love for Bianca Pellegrini.
During the visit, we will cross the stone village at the foot of the castle, discover the history of the ancient Rossi family, and arrive at the most precious heart of the route: the famous Camera d'Oro, where frescoes and decorations still tell one of the most fascinating love stories of the Italian Renaissance.
An itinerary through history, legends, panoramas, and court secrets, in the castle that more than any other combines the power of war with the delicacy of love.
