Know before you book

  • We strongly recommend booking at least 3 months in advance, as availability for Machu Picchu tickets and trains is very limited and subject to high demand.
  • Notice: Due to high demand, train and entrance ticket schedules are subject to availability at confirmation. If requested options are unavailable, alternatives may be provided, which could affect the itinerary and price.
  • Due to high altitude, we recommend a good acclimatisation before starting any activity.
  • We highly recommend to book this tour with at least 30 days in advance. The entrance fees of Machu Picchu are usually likely to sell out quickly

What you can expect

Early in the morning, we will pick you up from the hotel in Cusco to go to the train station of Poroy in private transport. You will take the train and start the travel to Machu Picchu a little more than 3 hours’ journey to Aguas Calientes train station. Upon arrival, you will board the bus until the entrance of the wonderful Citadel of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu means “Old Mountain”, and is located 80 miles on the northeast of the city of Cusco, in the Peruvian Andes Mountain Range, surrounded by the River Vilcanota. The citadel was built by the Inca Pachacutec between 1,400 and 1,500 A.D., being the exclusive housing of Inca aristocracy. Machu Picchu is located in a subtropical area with different microclimates, and has an altitude of 2,430 metres above sea level.

Connected by different roads, known as Inca Trails, as the best way to promote trade throughout the Inca Empire territory. This place was the main residence of Inca Pachacutec and his family. Also, you have the option to back to Machu Picchu town and have lunch (optional).

After enjoying a full day in Machu Picchu, you should arrive at the train station of Aguas Calientes at the arrange time to back to Cusco City, arriving to Poroy train station first and take a private transport to the hotel.
