What you can expect
Experience a morning sail on Grand Traverse Bay with a local Anishinaabe guide. Enjoy a history tour like no other in the area.
Learn from your guide Tera John, a Knowledge Carrier and Story Keeper from the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
To begin, listen to a safety briefing prior to boarding, then pick your own seat on deck. Set sail, and let the peaceful sound of the wind and water take you away.
Hear stories from Tera John that will help you experience the Bay in a new way. Feel free to venture back to visit with the captain and take a turn at the wheel. Or, relax as the crew serves snacks and drinks for purchase.
Watch the crew expertly take in sail and smoothly return you to Manitou's home dock. Leave with unforgettable memories of sailing on the Bay.
