Begin your tour with a stop at the Visitor Centre, where you'll examine the exhibits that describe this national observatory and other interesting topics. Enjoy a light meal and then have a guide-led introduction to astronomy and the night sky.

Learn how to identify stars and the constellations. Once you are outdoors, explore the night skies and view them with a variety of telescopes. Then enter one of the domes to view the Moon, planets (if visible), and maybe even a bright deep space object or two.

Observe the night sky in all its grandeur. This programme includes a smaller guest-to-staff ratio (typically no more than 12:1) and allows for more time looking through telescopes and binoculars at the Moon. To ensure excellent lunar vistas, this programme typically runs on nights that are close to the full Moon.
