Overview

Tumpak Sewu waterfalls are also called the Indonesian Niagara waterfalls…. Check for yourself! Depending on the season, the water flow is more or less. The height is about 120 m.

Combined with unforgettable moments in the Bromo area this 2 days tour is unique. The active volcano Bromo lies in an ancient caldera of 10 km in width. The caldera is partly a black volcanic Sand Sea and partly a lush savanna. The viewpoint Pananjakan shows the greatness of Earth.

Tumpak Sewu waterfall is also called the Indonesian Niagara waterfalls.... Check for yourself! Depending on the season, the water-flow is more or less. The height is about 120 m. You will be picked up at your hotel in Surabaya or at Juanda International Airport in Surabaya at 06:00 AM. The drive to Tumpak Sewu waterfalls takes about 4 hours depending on traffic conditions. After parking you hike in about 1 hour to the waterfall; take your time to absorb and observe the view. Once back at the car, your drive continues via Lumajang to Cemara Lawang village to spend the night.

Depart at 3:00 AM with 4wd Jeep to mount Pananjakan. With its 2702 m it is among the highest viewpoints in the area. Weather conditions order the colours in the sky and dye the view at mount Bromo.
Sand Sea

When the sun has risen, you will be heading by Jeep to the Sea of Sand. Cross the marvellous moonlike landscape. The grey-black volcanic ashen Sand Sea is one of a kind. Take your time.
Luhur Poten Temple
The Jeep will park near Luhur Poten temple. This temple is build in the Sand Sea at the foot of mount Bromo. The temple is still actively in use. When it is open, you can take a peak.

After the Jeep parked it is a 45 min walk one way to the crater of the active volcano Bromo. Look back every now and then as the view keeps on changing. Stand at the rim of this impressive active volcano. It's crater can be clearly seen... When ready, walk down hill back to your Jeep. Your driver is ready too. You will go back to your hotel for breakfast. Take a short rest and a refreshing shower before checking out. Then head back to Surabaya city, where you will be dropped off at your next destination.
