Day 1: Ashgabat City Tour
Begin your adventure with a visit to the Museum of History and Ethnography of Turkmenistan. Explore the museum's 7 thematic galleries, home to over 166,000 unique exhibits of historical and cultural significance.
Next, embark on a full-day city tour of Ashgabat. See the highest flagpole in the world, the Olympic City, the Monument and Park of Independence, and the Neutrality Tower.
Admire the Magtymguly Monument and Park, ride the Ferris wheel, and visit the Memorial Complex “People's Memory.” See the Wedding Palace, the sculptural ensemble depicting the founder of the Turkmen nation, Oguzkhan, and his six sons, the International Airport, and the Ertogrul Gazy Mosque.
Finally, explore the Gulistan Bazaar and visit one of the city's shopping and entertainment centers, such as Berkarar or Arkach. Spend the night at the Hotel Mizan in Ashgabat.
Day 2: Ashgabat – Mary – Ashgabat
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Mary, a 3-4 hour journey. Visit Ancient Merv, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enjoy a city tour of Mary. Return to Ashgabat and spend the night at the Hotel Mizan.
Day 3: Ashgabat – Kow-Ata Underground Lake – Darvaza Gas Crater
After breakfast, drive to the underground lake Kow-Ata in Baharden village. Visit the Mausoleum and Mosque of Turkmenbashy Ruhy.
Then, travel to Darvaza, a huge flaming gas crater located 270 km north of Ashgabat, a 4-hour journey. Enjoy the spectacular view of the gas crater in the evening.
Stay overnight in a camp with yurts and enjoy a picnic-style dinner.
Day 4: Darvaza – Dashoguz – Shavat Border Checkpoint
After breakfast at the camp, transfer to the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan border point, a 4-hour journey. Cross the border to complete your adventure.
