Board the M/S Lövskär in Turku at 9:30 AM, departing from the Aura River in front of Restaurant Nerå (Läntinen Rantakatu 37), near the city centre, and set sail on a scenic 1 hour 45 minute journey through the stunning archipelago to Seili Island.
This carefully curated, small-scale concert day offers an intimate and exclusive atmosphere, far from the crowds. Upon arrival, a peaceful 800-meter walk along a sandy road leads you through breathtaking island landscapes to Seili Church – a historic wooden church where music and surroundings merge into a truly unique experience. Here, accordion artist Harri Kuusijärvi performs on his electronically augmented accordion, presenting music from his latest album Aallot alongside brand-new material, enhanced by the church’s rich acoustics.
After the concert, lunch is available in the main building on Seili, allowing you to slow down and fully enjoy the island’s serene atmosphere.
In the afternoon, continue to the garden of the main building for a performance by guitarist and master of free expression Raoul Björkenheim with his POLYFREE trio, joined by drummer Sam Ospovat and bassist Jori Huhtala. Expect intense groove, free improvisation and powerful rhythmic energy in an intimate outdoor setting. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the church.
Between the concerts, take time to explore Seili’s historic surroundings or simply pause and take in the quiet beauty of the island.
The return journey departs in the afternoon, arriving back in Turku at 6:15 PM, completing a full-day, unhurried archipelago experience.
The Seili concert day is part of the four-day Turku Sea Jazz festival, held annually at the turn of July and August.
