Over 3 days and 2 nights, you will explore spectacular landscapes, traverse valleys, rivers, viewpoints, and waterfalls, and immerse yourself in the unique hospitality of the local residents.
The journey begins with a departure from Lençóis, Bahia, heading towards Vila do Guiné, the starting point for the trek. The hike begins with the ascent of the Aleixos and the incredible view of the Gerais do Rio Preto, until you reach the breathtaking Mirante do Pati, one of Chapada Diamantina's most iconic viewpoints. After a snack and a photo stop, we continue our descent into the valley, passing by rivers and the charming Altina Waterfall, which is perfect for a refreshing dip. In the evening, we will stay in the homes of local residents – simple, welcoming, and steeped in history.
On the second day, after a regional breakfast, we will head for Morro do Castelo, one of the most stunning spots on the itinerary. The climb requires effort, but the reward is unforgettable: the passage through the cave and the viewpoint at the top offer a panoramic view of the Pati Valley and the surrounding cliffs. The descent leads to Funis Waterfall, one of the most beautiful spots for swimming and relaxing. Return to the local home for a home-cooked dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 is reserved for the majestic Cachoeirão por Cima, a canyon over 1,000 feet high with dozens of waterfalls during the rainy season. This is the highlight of the trip, offering breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment. After a snack and some contemplation, we will begin our return journey through the Gerais do Rio Preto to Vila do Guiné, where transport will be waiting to take the group back to Lençóis.
Throughout the tour, visitors are accompanied by experienced, accredited local guides, ensuring safety, expert knowledge, and immersion in the region's culture. Meals are prepared by local residents, featuring traditional flavours and local ingredients, making the experience even more authentic.
