What you can expect

Discover the remains of the former Geguti Palace, the Vartsikhe Reservoir, and the Vani Archaeological Museum on a day trip from Kutaisi. Visit the Vani Archaeological Museum and the Vani warm sulphur geyser. If reserved, enjoy a wine tasting and lunch in Baghdati.

Leave Kutaisi at 10:00 AM and first visit the remains of the former Geguti Palace. Then, head to the Vartsikhe Reservoir, where, if you are lucky, you can observe migratory birds.

After Vartsikhe, visit the Vani Archaeological Museum, where you will see the Colchis Gold Fund and various previously unknown artefacts of the ancient period, which will completely change your perception of the history of Georgia and its glorious past.

After visiting the Vani museum, head to the natural warm water geyser baths. If you want to take a bath, bring the necessary equipment in advance (towel, shorts, slippers). Swimming is free.

In the second half of the day, if you wish (prior reservation is required), visit one of the famous winemakers' houses in the city of Baghdati, where you will be able to taste local natural wine and have a wonderful dinner/lunch (additional cost).

Return to Kutaisi.
