On this unique and original tour, developed by me, we leave Coimbra by Metrobus (trip of about 36 minutes) for the village of Miranda do Corvo, to see its magnificent footbridges, as well as the extraordinary Parque Biológico da Serra da Lousã. The Parque Biológico is an educational project of national importance with a significant environmental, cultural, and social mission: 1- to protect and conserve the fauna and flora that inhabit or have inhabited Portugal (it currently has 378 species of animals, such as bears, wolves, deer… and trees, such as strawberry trees and chestnut trees), 2- to employ not only, but also people with mental health issues who are perfectly capable of working.
Tourists will have free time to explore the park and the walkways of its complex (which also includes the Living Museum of Traditional Arts and Crafts, as well as the craft shop). As well as its boardwalks.
The role of the guide on this tour is fundamentally to orient and accompany the tourists to the sites, sporadically providing brief informative notes.
At the end, we return to Coimbra. Estimated time is 4 hours.
The meeting point is in Coimbra, near the Hotel Astória. We will depart by Metro Bus. A quick (36-minute) and environmentally friendly trip, where tourists can take in the views.
