Overview

  • Come join us to walk the stunning tracks and trails of Waiheke Island. I'm Vicki, your host — a Waiheke local of 30 years and an ex-superyacht chef. I love hosting, cooking, and walking! I've walked all over the world, but my happy place is right here on Waiheke Island.

    Though I suggest an itinerary for our 3, 4 or 5 day walks, I'm flexible on how far you walk - if you want to stop early, I'll pick you up from wherever you are. Prefer a scenic drive or a swimming day instead of walking? That's easy to arrange too.

    Bookings of 1-3 people may be paired with another small group of similar size to make up numbers - groups over 4 or more will remain a private group.

Activity itinerary

The Te Ara Hura trail circles Waiheke Island — coastal headlands, quiet beaches, native bush, and working farmland at the far end of the island. Walking it is the real way to see Waiheke, one step at a time. This self-guided walk is done over 4 days, from 13km to 23km per day. A reasonable level of fitness is needed, but the pace and distance are flexible to suit you — more on that below. iWalkWaiheke also offers a 5-day, 4-night version of this walk, or a 3-day 2-night 'best of' version, or get in touch for a bespoke itinerary.
