Begin your trek with a gradual ascent through dense tropical rainforest, where towering trees form a lush green canopy above. Discover the remarkable biodiversity of the forest, including giant ferns, wild orchids, bamboo groves, and endemic plant species.
Enjoy the cool mountain air and shaded trail, making the first part of the hike enjoyable while still moderately challenging. Along the way, take in the sights and sounds of the rainforest.
After approximately 3–4 hours of trekking, reach a designated rest area where you can enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by pristine nature. This peaceful moment allows you to fully absorb the atmosphere of the rainforest—its sounds, scents, and vibrant life.
Although this track does not reach the crater rim, it offers an authentic experience of Rinjani's lower slopes, which are equally captivating and ecologically significant.
Following lunch and rest, continue your journey with a descent back to Senaru Village along the same trail. The return track provides new perspectives of the forest and additional opportunities for wildlife spotting. Arrive back in the village in the late afternoon.
