The dwarf trail tour covers the entire Wrocław Old Town - we will also see the most famous dwarf in Wrocław - the great Papa Dwarf. He is the greatest of all, he invented the Wrocław dwarves in the 1980s. Major Waldemar Fydrych, known to all Wrocław residents, artist and happener, creator of the Orange Alternative, a group of students fighting the communist regime in a funny way. Members of the group dressed up as dwarves, painted them on the streets of Wrocław and organised illegal happenings.
We continue our tour, heading towards the University of Wrocław. The Dwarf Swordsman is waiting for us there. Why is he naked? Why is he holding a sword in his hand? Yes, it's a student from Wrocław again. Students often pawned their clothes at restaurant “Piwnica Swidnicka” to get money for beer. In the early morning, naked students were seen returning home. And since they enjoyed saber duels, it was the most important thing to them. You could lose your clothes - but never your saber!
