What you can expect

  • Begin your journey with a visit to Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO-listed medieval complex partly carved into the surrounding rock. Continue to the impressive Symphony of Stones, a natural basalt formation located in the Garni Gorge and known for its striking geometric columns.

Next, explore the famous Garni Temple, the only surviving Greco-Roman colonnaded temple in Armenia. During the tour, take part in a traditional lavash-making experience, where you can see how Armenia’s traditional flatbread is prepared and learn more about this important part of local culture.

After exploring the Garni area, travel towards Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the region. Visit Sevanavank Monastery, located on the Sevan Peninsula, and enjoy panoramic views over the lake and surrounding mountains.

Continue north to the green landscapes of the Dilijan region. Visit Haghartsin Monastery, a medieval monastery hidden among forested mountains, before heading to Old Dilijan, where you can walk through the historic part of the town and experience its distinctive architecture and atmosphere.

Throughout the day, enjoy changing landscapes, from rocky gorges and ancient monuments to Lake Sevan and the forest-covered mountains of Dilijan. The route offers a varied introduction to Armenia’s history, architecture, traditions, and nature in a single day.

At the end of the tour, return to Yerevan with a broader understanding of Armenia’s cultural heritage and diverse landscapes.
