While all listed destinations are 100% guaranteed, the daily order of your itinerary is fully customisable and can be rearranged based on local conditions or your start date.

For example, since temple structures are closed on Mondays, if your tour begins on a Monday, your driver will smartly adjust the sequence—taking you to Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave-Tubing on Monday first, and moving your temple visits to Tuesday and Wednesday when they are fully open.

Day 1: Prambanan and the Hidden Buddhist Sanctuary
Private pickup from your hotel or the Yogyakarta train station by your English-speaking driver. Upon arrival at the archaeological park, meet your dedicated private local guide.

Explore Prambanan Temple, the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia, as your guide explains its towering spires and intricate Ramayana reliefs. Then, walk with your private guide through Candi Sewu, a vast Buddhist complex inside the same archaeological park that most group tours skip entirely.

Day 2: Borobudur, a Mushroom Lunch, and Mount Merapi
Journey to Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist monument. To comply with conservation rules, you will climb the temple structure by joining an official shared group tour (maximum 10 travellers per group) led by an expert English-speaking temple guide. Afterwards, visit the smaller Pawon and Mendut temples.

For lunch, stop at Jejamuran, a famous local restaurant specialising in innovative mushroom-based dishes—a fantastic option for vegetarian and health-conscious travellers.

In the afternoon, switch to a private open-top 4x4 jeep with a local driver-guide to head up the rugged slopes of Mount Merapi, one of the world's most active volcanoes.

Day 3: Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave-Tubing
Head south to the limestone hills of Gunungkidul. At Jomblang Cave, professional on-site caving guides lower you 60 metres by harness into an ancient underground forest, then lead you through a cavern to see the legendary “Light of Heaven” where sunbeams fall through a massive sinkhole onto the misty forest floor below.

Please note this adventure is not suitable for young children, pregnant travellers, or anyone with heart or back conditions. It is best experienced in the dry season from May to September.

Afterwards, relax at Pindul Cave for a calm cave-tubing float along a peaceful underground river beneath striking stalactites—a gentle and refreshing way to close your 3-day journey. Conclude your tour with a private drop-off back at your hotel, the train station, or the airport.
