What you can expect

  • Begin your journey in Mwanga Pwani with a guided visit to the historic Old Slave Chambers, where you'll explore the underground chambers and learn about Zanzibar's role in the East African slave trade.

    You'll also visit the World War II Bunker, built during 1942–1945 when fears of conflict between the Germans and the British reached the region. The site was guarded by soldiers 24 hours a day as part of Zanzibar's coastal defence.
