Start your experience with a hotel pick-up by our professional driver in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, then drive to Nungwi village on the northern coast of Zanzibar. On arrival, you will visit the peaceful Mnarani Marine Turtle Conservation Pond, a natural lagoon where rescued green sea turtles are cared for and protected.

At the sanctuary, a local guide will welcome you and explain how the centre helps injured turtles recover after being rescued from fishing nets and boat accidents. You will see the turtles swimming freely in clear, calm water and learn about the important conservation work being done to protect them.

You will also have a special chance to feed the turtles by hand under the guide’s supervision. If you wish, you can also swim gently with the turtles or enjoy a transparent kayak ride, where you can watch the turtles swimming just below you in the water.
