Welcome to the 72 Qilou (七十二奇楼) in Zhangjiajie, a colossal architectural complex certified by Guinness as the tallest hanging stilt structure in the world (109.9 metres high), inspired by the mythical legend of the “Seventy-Two Magic Towers.” Popularly known as the Palace of Xiangxi, it is the most vibrant nighttime landmark in the region.
Admission and Opening Hours: We strongly recommend prioritising an evening visit (between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM), as this is when all the lights come on and the architecture is at its most spectacular.
How to Get There: From Zhangjiajie West Train Station or Hehua Airport, a 10- to 15-minute taxi ride will take you directly to the main entrance.

Your admission ticket grants you full access to the complex, which is structured into three large interactive areas:
The Tujia Stilt Main Tower (The Sky Palace): An imposing structure that replicates traditional stilt houses with tiered eaves. Its huge central void creates the visual phenomenon of the “Double Counterposed Cave” with the distant Tianmen Cave on Tianmenshan Mountain. Sunset (the blue hour) is the best time for photography.
Yanhuo Old Street: A bustling promenade dedicated to the intangible cultural heritage of Xiangxi (Wuling), where you can admire Tujia silversmiths' workshops, Miao embroidery, traditional costumes, and a wide variety of local culinary specialities (such as spicy duck or rice tofu).
Live Shows and NPCs: At night, the venue comes to life with dances around the campfire, folk performances by the Tujia and Miao ethnic groups (Magusi, Tima songs), and street interactions with live actors.
