What you can expect

Mindfulness Karate by Akemi (on the first and the third Thursdays of the month)

In the flow of stillness and movement, take time to connect with yourself.
Kata in Karate is often described as a “mirror” that reflects the state of the state of mind.

When distractions cloud the mind, movements lose their clarity; but when the mind is calm, techniques become sharp and refined.

In this experience, we explore movements based on various techniques found in Karate Kata.

By understanding the meaning behind each technique and focusing deeply on each one, we face ourselves inwardly and become aware of our state of mind.

The Karate session begins and ends with a moment of quiet meditation. At the beginning, we centre the mind. In the end, we take time to bring the heart to stillness.

Through synchronised breath with movement and expressing energy through kiai, we build a strong, unwavering centre – both physically and mentally.

Beginners are warmly welcome.
Why not join us and experience it for yourself?

Akemi sensei is looking forward to welcoming you to the world of Karate.
