"This is an extraordinary place, beautifully nestled at the top of a narrow tree-lined road, designed to blend into the landscape. It's high, and the view of the sea is grand. Well appointed, with a salt-water pool and very nice communal areas. We stayed only one night, a stopover between Kona airport and the drive to Hilo. "Older hotel, but remodeled nicely! First room had thre roaches upon entering, told front desk and was quickly moved to a different floor, no more bug sightings. The rest of the stay was comfortable and the beds were nice and clean. Lots of parking, although not enough spots for everyone on site and may have to park in across the street public parking area. Lots of upgrades here, modern decor, clean sheets. Water pressure is OK, water temp OK, tub is nothing special and bathrooms are small but...

The property is also located a little away from the busy part of Ali’i drive, which makes it great to relax at the end of the day after a day full of activities but is conveniently located near beaches and grocery/convenient stores. I highly recommend the property to anyone planning a trip to Kona."

"This was our second time staying at the Kona Castle Reef . This oceanfront unit was comfortable, tidy and an excellent layout. Some of the lighting fixtures seemed dated and Could use replacement . Having the bbq’s there as an alternative cooking option was fantastic. We can’t wait to visit again next year and hopefully secure the same unit as we did this time ."
