Very nice property, the rooms are renovated, fully equipped and spacious. The WiFi works very well. The location is perfect, next to super cheap,7-11. And right across the road you have Super C. Easy to get to the beach

The suite was lovely and so was the pool but it was clear that they were operating on a shoestring and not up to 4-star standards as claimed on Expedia. The 4- and 5-star reviews were either terribly out of date or just manufactured. No dining facilities except for what passes as breakfast which came with instant coffee (at a 4-star resort?) puh-leeze. While it was a brief walk to the main town, the resort was located on a busy road that was hazardous to walk on. A good thing we got familiar with eateries and shops within a 15-min walk

Excellent stay
Hotel booking and check in is easy and seamless. Rooms were recently renovated and spacious. Staff were friendly. Improvement points: Slow service during ala cart breakfast Breakfast quality and quantity Closes front door after certain time at night. Guests have to enter through side door with security post. Hotel Recep unable to help much in navigating our way in Phuket due to limited English.

It was a good, if extremely basic hotel. You would be better off looking to stay in another part of town as getting around isn't easy nor pleasant. Suggest closer to the beach or Fantasea. Pros - Staff eager and willing to assist, service was excellent. Courtesy bus for local area. Cons - Very very basic and old. Not a good location

Amazing boutique resort
Amazing boutique hotel with a very friendly staff, especially the GM Pim. This resort is for those looking for quiet days and evenings as it's a 5 minute walk to the restaurants. But....The seclusion was worth it. Tip...( Short cut )To head to the beach or the main walking strip, head to the Big C super market and go around the right side.

Nice hotel close to beach and quality restaurants.
Very warm and hospitable friendly staff who spent time recommending and booking hotels alon with transportstion etc. Food in the hotel of a high standsrd too.

Expensive but worth it.
An oasis. Lovely gardens, well tended. The apartments are huge and really clean and tidy. The manager Pim and her staff were polite and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Quiet Hotel
The woman running the operation is most cooperative, friendly and helpful. It is a 15 minute walk to the beach and you have to cross a busy main road with no crosswalk. Hotel is settled near Muslim mosque with call to prayer at 0530 every morning. Trip excursions can be arranged by the hotel. Only one person speaks English.

Unfortunately we had a few issues on arrival including A/C not working correctly and safe unusable. The reception staff and manager were very welcoming and helpful and arranged for an alternative room. Me and my wife stayed in a villa. Hotel description and reviews should be updated since there was a change in ownership and things appeared to be in need of updating and repair. restaurant, bar and spa facilities seemed limited or not in use. looking at earlier reviews and talking to people when we were there these facilities used to be very good but at the moment the new owners don't seem to be maintaining the same level of service. As said before hotel staff were very good and we had a pleasant stay. Our no recommendation would be yes if updating and renewal of some of the facilities were done.

great choice!
My husband and I were in town for a wedding. The second day at the Royal Embassy Resort, I broke my leg (at another location). The management was amazing. Not only did they lend me a pair of crutches, I was driven to the hospital, and the driver waited hours for me while I was treated. Then I was given an upgraded suite, on the main floor, to avoid using the stairs. The resort had fantastic staff throughout, very helpful and friendly. The rooms were spotless, and had a nice Thai atmosphere. Small resort, but cozy and relaxing. Food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The beach and shops, including a grocery store, were within walking distance, although the hotel also had a free shuttle. I have nothing bad to say, I would definitely recommend staying there!

It's excellent if you don't value your sleep
The hotel in itself is no problem. It's been rated for excellence from tipadvisor on an average rating of 8.5 or so, the staff are friendly, the boss is professional and tackles problems with the room in no time. The environment of the hotel is lovely but a hotel's basic function is to first and foremost, provide a good night's rest as well as somewhere where guests can get clean. We didn't have a single good night's rest and actually dreaded going to bed because of the town (Kamala) the hotel in located in. There is a mosque nearby. As is Islam tradition, there is a call to prayer called "Adhan", which traditionally is someone reciting a melodic call from a balcony. Unfortunately in this town, they used mega loud speakers that penetrate your sleep, keep you awake at the crack of dawn (5:30am) and repeat that 5 times a day. Since noise easily leaks through the windows and doors of the rooms here, there was no escaping it, it was obtrusive and stressful every night. We were physically run down and drained by the time we left after 4 nights. While the hotel is lovely, it's a shame to be located in an area that affects the quality of their guests stay.

Delighted with the quality of the rooms and the overall hotel. One of the best we have visited in Thailand or anywhere in the world. Very friendly and efficient staff and the whole operation is well run by the manager Phil

Second time back at the Ambassador, this time in the off season to a much more sleepy (and humid) Kamala. As before the place was lovely, the food good and the staff friendly. Can't fault it, will probably be back when we need a week off again.

Fantastic stay
We booked this hotel for a wedding group, although actual wedding was held at another hotel. We were absolutely happy with our choice. The best part of everyone's stay at the hotel was their customer service. The manager, Phil, was super helpful, and very accommodating: they provided extra beds for one night for free, they would keep kitchen open past closing time for our guests, they would negotiate tour prices with companies and lower them for us, you name it. The breakfast quality wasn't great and coffee tasted a bit like burnt coffee, but dinner was very good. I definitely recommend this hotel considering the price and customer service they offered.

Relaxing hotel
Great hotel located off the main road in a quiet location. We had a two bed apartment which was great, had everything we needed. It was very relaxing poolside, like a little Oasis. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was fabulous!

Great local resort!
My stay at Royal Embassy Resort & Spa was wonderful, I only wish I could have stayed longer! The staff were so helpful and accommodating. My room, the pool, and the restaurant area were charming - well kept, clean, and comfortable. The location is a 10-15 minute walk down to the beach, but they offer shuttle service during the day and can arrange a taxi for you in the evening to go to the beach or anywhere in the area. I would definitely stay here again, a great local resort!

Great rooms. Staff always ready to help us with smiles. We appreciate the two swimming pools, one with spa. We took most of meals in the hotel : food was excellent and tippicaly thaï. Beverages such as fruit juice with ice are good when weather is heat. Possibility of shuttle to go to the beach but it is easy to walk up to it. Most important trips can be reserved in the hôtel. We personnaly tried the elephant walk.

This really is a great place to stay
We arrived late at night around 1230am and Paisan was there to assist us with our bags and 2 sleeping kids which was very helpful and a great start. Our room was excellent - 2 big bedrooms with very comfortable beds and plenty of space around the beds. The bathroom was clean and roomy with loads of amenities. The kitchen was well stocked for us to do some of our own cooking and there was also a big fridge. The lounge area was a great size with dining table, 3-seater couch and 2 big chairs with a TV and DVD player. This was excellent for the afternoons when the kids had been in the pool all morning and needed to chill out for a while. I'd recommend these larger rooms as we also had a patio area overlooking the pool with an outdoor setting and 2 banana lounges. We ate up to 3 meals each day in the restaurant, The Ambassador. The food was excellent - fresh ingredients, fresh fruit and all served with a smile. Each time we ate out of the hotel we regretted it as the food at the hotel was easily the best we ate in Kamala with all the usual Thai offerings as well as New Zealand Lamb, Mussels and Steak, great pizzas and full English/American breakfasts. It's only a short 10-minute walk to the main beach via all the shops. If you didn't want to walk then you could jump in the hotel's free transport that operates between the hotel, the beach and Patong beach - all free of charge and a great service. Phil is a fantastic host, no request was too hard and we'll happily return

Great place to stay just off Kamala Beach
My wife and I had an excellent 4 day stay at the Royal Embassy. ALL the staff were excellent, we couldn't have asked for better service. The overall value of what you get for the price was excellent, especially compared to other hotels in the area. The grounds and pool were very nice and well kept. The room was large, we had a separate bedroom and a living area with a kitchenette, a dining table. Also a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Great food and excellent presentation. It is about a 3-4 minute drive to the beach, there is a complementary shuttle provided. The beach hotels are very busy, the Royal Embassy is much more quiet and relaxing.

A sanctuary from the madding crowd...
Phuket is hardly for the faint-hearted. The Royal Embassy was our home for ten days and a wonderful escape from the tourism-driven environment outside. The rooms are comfortable. The grounds are really well maintained. The staff are nice and helpful. The location is perfect (without being on the beach, if you need a beach outside). The markets next door on Wednesday and Saturday evenings have the best local Thai street food in town. The songthaew passes right past the front door and the laundry is just across the road - don't ask for express service (same day), you'll be robbed. I wouldn't bother with the restaurant for anything other than breakfast, snacks and cocktails by the pool, though. Our dinner there was pretty disappointing. Pretty damned disappointing, actually, and they really should be ashamed/embarrassed of the standard of cookery coming out of that kitchen. But we didn't come to eat in our resort and neither should you. Without all the glamour of the super resorts up and down the coast, Royal Embassy is a perfect spot for a trip to Phuket. We stayed in the apartment to have a kitchen. The bungalows looked pretty good, but preferred the privacy and aspect from our balcony over being out front and centre on the pool surrounds. Keep in mind.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend. The location is not on the beach, but only a 10 minute walk, or make use of the complimentary shuttle to the town or beach. We found the apartment very spacious. Good restaurant.

The resort and hotel staff are excellent. Previous reviews are spot on; very hospitable, accommodating, and the food in the restaurant is quite good. Location is perfect, away from the noise of Patong, but close enough that it’s accessible when the mood strikes you. Room was very nice, clean and the AC worked very well.

Enjoyable stay
Kamala is a perfect centre for those not wishing the very busy places such as Patong. The Royal Embassy Resort is well situated and within easy walking distance to beach, restaurants (though it has its own excellent bistro) and supermarket. Staff are very friendly and willing to help, and a free shuttle is available for short trips, with other longer trips being reasonably priced.

Very relaxing introduction to the Phuket area
We had a lovely stay at the royal embassy, Phil and Ari were kind and generously hosts and went out of their way to make our visit a pleasant one. As it was the green season, there were very few guests so it was the perfect place to just relax and unwind. The apartment was spacious and perfect for staying with our 17 month old, enough room for her to play and run and having the large bedroom for her to take daytime naps in was a boon. They kindly organised transport for us, the pickup at the airport as fantastic and made o ur arrival so smooth with a rather tired and emotional toddler. Thank you for a great stay!

The most attentive staff
When we arrived the staff saw that my husband had walking difficulties so they put us in a villa which was lovely there is a tuck tuck to take you to the beach but also they took us to the super market. Now that is looking after your guests .we ate in the hotel most night the food was very good.nothing too much trouble. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Perfect.
Very friendly staff, very clean rooms and facilities, affordable and very tasty food. The only thing some may be critical of (although I find it a bonus), is the 10min stroll to the beach. All in all, a 5star experience.

Spacious well-appointed rooms, excellent service
We stayed in a 1BR apartment overlooking the pool area. It was huge, clean and well-appointed. A home away from home, where you can chill and hangout. The food in the restaurant was excellent and good value, plus you could have it delivered to your room for no extra charge. Special mention to the watermelon shapes. Big C supermarket a few minutes walk away, and also very near to the beach with daily free shuttles if you didn't want to walk. Superb service, very kind to my young child and incredibly helpful with organising activities and transport. We would certainly stay there again.

Pleasant resort close to beach
My daughter and I stayed at the embassy resort and Spa for 4 nights. The staff was amazing- so kind, helpful and polite. They drove us to the supermarket when we arrived. We enjoyed our stay, but there were a few things that were disappointing. When we checked in we were told the phone didn't work. No effort was made to repair it during our stay. In addition, there was a light bulb out in the bedroom, and the ceiling fan didn't work. We couldn't call down to report this as the phone didn't work. The bathroom sink took forever to drain. The apartment was quite nice, but could use some updating. Unfortunately, I became quite ill the second day there. The staff showed great concern to me.

Quiet & intimate retreat
Great for a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Phuket Island. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite and the resort is small enough to still feel personal. They helped us arrange out ferry for the next morning even though we arrived after 8pm. We were only there for 1 night so hard to judge the surrounding area. Though there is a restaurant over the road, it's likely to need a shuttle or taxi to get anywhere more meaningful, including the beach. We would definitely stay again.

Kamala Beach Hotel
In Nov we spent 4 nights at Royal Embassy. This is a great hotel for the plus 40 crowd. 2 nice pools. We stayed in Bungalow 1 and really liked it, it's like a little house all to yourself. The food here is excellent and we chose to eat in 3 evenings. Staff were so helpful with all our needs from booking tours and boats. Even suggesting it might not be safe to use the speed boat due to bad weather. They have a vehicle and will take you to Kamala beach which is about 1km away. We liked this beach and there are lots of food options on the beach. After all the business and noise of Phuket this spot is a quiet refuge. We likely not go back to Phuket but if we did we would definitely stay at this hotel.
