“Great service and lovely resort”
Exceptional service in our villa, at the pool, at the beach, at the restaurants...simply the resort is all about service. The grounds and buildings are beautiful and the rooms lovely. The open air villas have a tendency to echo so you hear doors close and generalized activity in the mornings. Not an active late night scene which was ok with us...otherwise peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable.
“Total relaxation.”
Best staff we have ever encountered. Quiet, sedate, peaceful & private. Very classy resort with many return guests.
“Pamper Yourself at the Royal Hideaway”
Staff was very attentive and friendly. Food at each restaurant was delicious. This is a hotel where you can really relax and get pampered. Did not see much participation on pool activities. One guy in particular, named Alex provided exceptional service. You'd see him dashing from one end of the hotel to another. One minute he was carrying beach loungers and the next he'd be serving you gelato.
“Elegant Retreat”
Royal Hideaway is a high quality resort. The facilities and grounds were manicured and the staff was quite attentive. My husband and I tried the several different dining options. The restaurants are a la carte for lunch and dinner and reservations are required for dinner. The concierge in the villa are happy to assist with all reservations. There is a large main pool area by the beach where most people tend to be. We enjoyed finding some other small pools that, more often than not, we had completely to ourselves. This is not a "party" resort. There are many of those close by. We were delighted by the relatively small number of rooms at the resort. The beach was not too crowded and there are no lines at the restaurants. Royal Hideway offers an atmosphere of quiet elegance. Most evening entertainment ends by 11:30.
“Another Fantastic Stay!!”
We just returned from our second time to Royal Hideaway. Another great experience!!!! Staff is exceptional, food is way beyond your traditional all-inclusive, and facilities/grounds are impeccable. Can't wait to go back again!
“Great Boutique Resort”
The staff here were so wonderful and accommodating. The grounds were just beautiful. A perfect boutique sized resort. Very quiet in evenings which was great. Convenient to Playa del Carmen 5th Ave district dining and shopping. We'll be back!!
“Lovely.”
A wonderful experience all around. Great food. Fantastic staff. Beautiful beach and grounds. Our second trip there. Highly recommend. Not for spring break types. Very reserved and relaxed.
“Love Royal Hideaway! It's a gem!”
I can not rave more about this hotel in every way. It was quiet, comfortable, food was fantastic, service was impeccable, and amazing bang for your buck. I have stayed at some Ritz Carlton's and haven't had this type of experience. Mostly all couples 35 plus. Everyone was very respectful of others just trying to relax. Go to another party hotel if you want a swim up bar and games being announced over an intercom with shots as the prize. The room was so well maintained and I love the nightly turn down service. Room service 24/7 is a great bonus. Drinks were very good and always flowing. LOVE THIS PLACE! Just book it and go.

“Loved It!”
The staff was really friendly. At the pool, waiters would walk up every few minutes offering fruit, drinks, and cold towels to use for your face! The food was great and they offered lots of activities. It was a very calm and relaxing trip with NO kids running around the pool area. I also received a massage at the spa which was great. I would love to come back!
