"Such a lovely historic ryokan experience, our first ever!! The inn is old and rustic which gives the feeling of going.back in time. The onsen mineral bath experience was worth trying, but reserve a private one if you want to enjoy with your companions instead of other travelers. Our room Had no bathroom, so toilet is down the hall and showers in the onsen rooms. Our corner room has lots of windows/screens that open up to the sounds of the river below. Meals are served in the room and then table...

We enjoyed the very authentic traditional Japanese food served at breakfast and dinner. The public onsen is fantastic and the area also includes a sauna and a cold plunge. Be aware that guests with large tattoos are not permitted. Would not recommend the Japanese traditional room for guests over 5’8ft as the doorways are very low. My boyfriend had hit his head numerous times....

"It's a resort ryokan hotel with excellent view of the ocean. The "half-board" breakfasts and dinners were delicious and plentiful. The town of Atami is very hilly with very very steep roads that are not very walkable (and could be dangerous when wet), so be prepared to use a taxi or a rental car to go practically anywhere."

The location is awesome, walking distance to everything in Minato Mirai, Bashamichi stop on the MM line outside the door, and a Lincos grocery store next door.
