"This was our first ryokan experience. The service was incredible throughout - very easy to communicate with the hotel team, who were very responsive and helpful. The staff were all super welcoming throughout our stay. The interior is beautiful, and the gardens are stunning. Our room was large, bright and calming, with a private bath. " It's was a treat to stay in a traditional Ryokan-difficult to tell if this is really traditional or not. The onsen was nice, the futon beds were small and uncomfortable, the food looked spectacular but was pretty disappointing, very expensive dinner especially as there are so many nice places for a lot less near by. Breakfast was includde and again looked great but wasn't for us, so we cancelled 2 out of 3 days. Ideally located to explore the area with great views of Fuji about a 2 min walk...

"Next time we stay in Hakone, we will stay right near the Hakone station. The staff at this property was an amazing host. Very kind and helpful. The facilities were worn down and we all got bug bites on us. The futons were very old and the pillows were very uncomfortable. The onsen wasn't very clean either and there are no dining options nearby. It was very quiet and had a nice view. Stay at another place by Hakone Station instead. ((but we did love the Host very much- just not this propery))"
