We hadden de familiekamer. Fijne ruime kamer, alleen de slaapbank is niet geschikt voor 2 kinderen van 11 en 14 jaar. De bank is eigenlijk versleten en te smal. De dames waren enorm vriendelijk en we hebben goed gegeten. Prima uitvalsbasis voor een bezoek aan Oxford

Fantastic value, lovely place to stay, friendly staff and the food was great. Good location, quiet rooms and comfortable beds. We were delayed in traffic and the staff waited up to let us in. Supper grateful. Highly recommend this place, we will stay again.

L Hotel est facile a trouver le long d un voie principale qui mene vers Oxford,mais bruyant puisque la circulation est continuelle. La chambre 6 est absolument a eviter( chambre triple) Elle se situe au dessus des cuisines,poubelles et du systeme de ventilation,fenetres entre ouvertes ou fermées,il y a un bruits assourdissant de jour comme de nuit.De plus elle est orienté coté circulation. Nous avons demandé a changer pour les 2 dernieres nuits mais impossible. Point positif le personnel est extremement gentil,l hotel est cosi,les repas sont bons mais les parts sont peu fournies.A l exception des petits dejeuners. L exterieur coté ouest est sympa,tables et chaises dehors.

“As you call a boat, so it will float”. I don’t know who named the hotel and when but it seems just the right name for it! The place has seen the better times long ago, everything looks very “tired”. Although some may find a special “charm” in this, but I’d suggest grabbing a paintbrush and a bucket of paint to start with and go around the hotel and just that will greatly improve the impression. We were “lucky” to get the room facing side of the building where utility area and rubbish bins are, so we missed all the beauty of rural landscape from our window at this point. On top of that there was quite a powerful ventilation system that not only was blowing aromatic smells from the kitchen to our room early in the morning and late in the evening, but was creating constant hum and vibration, which sometimes was particularly noticeable on the smaller bed. Thanks to wonderful Oxfordshire air and our vigorous exercises during the day (we came with the bikes and cycled a lot), as well as a couple of red wines during dinner, we got ourselves to sleep quite tight!

Lovely pub, clean and comfy room, friendly staff and great food. Nice size car park too. Well placed to explore Oxford as it's only 15 minutes drive to park and ride. Only a couple of small comments for housekeeping. Only one sachet of milk was provided per day which meant that one of us had to have our coffee back. Also, only the bin was emptied...the bed was left unmade, which is no problem, but why leave the dirty coffee cups and water glasses and not provide clean ones? Other than that, we totally recommend this pub and will certainly stay again.

The bedrooms and halls probably needed to be refurbished 30 years ago. They certainly are long overdue a completely overhaul today. The bathroom was grimy and there was no excuse for not providing a single chair in the room. What was the point in providing even the tired dressing/table desk without one?
