"My stay at the Terra d'Amuri was great. The location is perfect within easy walking distance of the Duomo and the beautiful old section of Catania. My stay was made even better by the wonderful and gracious owner, Loredana, who spoke perfect English and was always ready to help with any questions I had about sights and transportation. "We had a deeply disappointing experience at Zen Escape. Despite booking a Family Suite with 2 queen beds, we were given a smaller Deluxe Suite with only 1 bed and an unprepared sofa. Most concerning was discovering someone else’s dirty underwear tucked between the sheets—raising serious hygiene issues. "We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Hotel Continental. The location is perfect for walking to the main street. The room was clean and comfortable, although the bathroom was very small. We had a nice balcony with a great view. The rooftop terrace has a wonderful view. We enjoyed the breakfast there every morning. We also had dinner there one evening and Happy Hour cocktails a couple times. The staff is friendly and professional. "

"We loved staying at Una. It is an absolutely beautiful place and we had a wonderful room with a spectacular view. The hotel could use some update but other than that, it was fabulous. The shuttle wasnt as convenient as we would have liked and other transportation options are limited and taxi is expensive. "

Great stay

"Really great property and enjoyed our visit at the Mazzarò Sea Palace. Big shout out to Carmen from housekeeping that took extra good care of us and Salvatore on the beach who made things perfect! Loved the place so much! One thing I think people should know about when you travel to nice hotels in Sicily and this one in particular. They now add 15% gratuity and mention it as optional if you eat at the restaurants. Additionally, upon check out, they sum up a tip of 5 percent of total bill for a tip for all the staff. In essence you tip on top of tips. You can opt out of that or select another amount but it would be great if it was advised upfront as I’ve grown accustomed to tipping staff directly or house keeping directly. One then finds themself tipping at lunch/dinner then again having an amount pegged at end of stay by the property. They then tell you it’s optional. Not sure if the staff receives or if it goes to the top of the chain. Overall great stay but people should know about gratuity being baked in or proposed in final bill. "
