"It was our first time to Akureyri and we chose Hotel Centrum based on recommendations, reviews and value. We were very pleased with the room, central location in town and the helpful staff. We stayed in 411 and it had a lovely balcony overlooking the shops and restaurants on Hafnarstræti. Easy, free parking after 4pm in the public lot just behind the hotel. Great modern bathroom with a walk-in shower, great Internet connectivity, fridge in the room, comfortable chairs and bed, and blackout curtains for those 11pm sunsets in summer. There was no TV but that really ended up being a bonus."
"Nice spot in new buildings but they have some administrative items to work out. Our family stayed in one of the new apartments which was very modern, nice and new. It was quiet and comfortable. However, they seem to be trying to be an electronic only communication check-in process as you can only communicate via Expedia and no one would answer the phones which delayed things. Also, there was a nice coffee machine requiring coffee beans in the unit but there was no coffee and no way to request any as there were no people on the property."
"Would stay here again! This was a fantastic hotel for our trip around the Ring Road. The style was beautiful and charming, the toiletries (including the Dyson hairdryer in each room!) and mugs/espresso machine were fantastic, and the breakfast was unmatched. Highly recommend!"
"The separated toilet/sink and shower areas on opposite sides of the room with the bed in the middle was not an ideal layout. Having to essentially walk in a U shape to go from the shower to the sink area was annoying. There was no fan so had to keep the windows open during showers. The shower area had very minimal storage space so that was a disappointing and hard to maneuver. There was also only a shower curtain to keep the water at bay but that barely does anything so it was a super wet area. There was no sliding door separation into the shower area (like the toilet) and unfortunately it’s just a shower curtain to block off some privacy when showering only. One side of the bed had no outlet and I had to charge my stuff at the desk area with the room phone etc. However, greatly appreciated the various storage spaces the room had."
