Nice experience!
The staff was friendly and the food was great, both dinner and breakfast. The guided tour to the beach in the evening was good and professional. The room was a bit outdated and is soon in need for renovation.

This hotel is in an excellent location for turtle watching and spending a day in the beach. The free breakfast is average, the dinner seemed to expensive (12 OMR) and we went to Ras Al Hadd instead. The eco tents need some renovation. Everything was run down and the tent material was moldy in most places. Even when we opened all windows, it still smelled. The bathroom was even worse.
The main attraction is of course the turtle viewing tours. Despite some reviews indicating these were insensitive, poorly run etc, our experience of these was very good. The evening tour was a group of 20, but we felt the guide managed it very well, taking care to interfere as little as possible in the amazing spectacle, often using sub-groups etc. The morning tour was quieter but definitely do both.
Hotel itself is fine - nothing special, but does the job well enough. It looks somewhat dated to be honest, but the rooms were clean and bed comfy, which is all you need here really. We found the evening food to be decent and very good value. Breakfast was not so great.
We visited in September on a weekday - so I can't speak for what it is like in other times / on weekends when it may be busier.

I was worried about going due to some of the reviews but in general the stay was fine for one night. The tent was clean , the bed was comfortable, shower and AC were good. The WiFi was none existent in the tents . The gentleman in reception in the morning was polite and one nice man in the restaurant also but some of the other staff were just rude which was a real shame . The restaurant buffet dinner and breakfast was great could not fault it . Those that like a drink they did not serve alcohol here which wasn’t an issue. The beach is huge and very quiet which was nice to walk along , there was nothing else to do here. Unfortunately we did not see the turtles as we waited around for an hour and half and gave up but others managed eventually saw some . It was ok for one night but they could make this so much better and encourage visitors to stay longer by improving the facilities in general
It was an amazing experience visiting Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve. Staff are so patient with people (it was holiday when we came, so crowded but they were so patient); foods are great, our room was spacious, accommodating tourist guides.
Overall worth it! Although I wonder if they can have Room Service too :)
It was really great the first night in the tents. The second night though was very loud with some families and children running around making noise until 11 PM. The hotel did come and tell them they had to be quiet which was great, but since they are tents you may hear everything going on.
This was my second stay at the turtle resort. The eco tents are really comfy and the morning turtle sightings are fantastic. I would definitely recommend. The WiFi isn’t good and the tents need a bit of TLC as the zips are coming apart but I wouldn’t expect anything less in a remote area and the reason you go is for the turtles not the WiFi.

Hotel mediocre but completely worth it for turtles
The turtle reserve is amazing; it was wonderful to see these magnificent creatures. The tour guides seemed to care about the turtles and their environment. As for the hotel, while the service was very nice and the room was clean, the walls are paper thin, the shower situation is not appealing, and the place is generally old and creaky with a ton of noise at night.

It’s located inside the turtle reserve, very close to the beach. That’s the point we stayed there because we wanted to join the turtle tour. Patience and long time waiting for low season of turtle nesting are typical I guess, so stay there is more convenient. It’s very basic but pricey

The turtle watching priority by being a guest is definitely a plus from staying directly in the reserve.
It’s not clear at check-in that dinner is not included. At check-in they just mention the time of dinner but it is not clear if it is included or not. Once you’re welcomed into the dining area, only after eating they ask for the room number and to pay
We only had one night at the reserve. The hotel was clean, very friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious for our family with 2 children. The free activities turtle watching where absolutely unique. Unfortunately there where tourists not paying respect to the turtles by not following all the regulations. Overall we love the commitment of the reserve to protect the turtles.

Great place to watch turtles
We very much enjoyed our turtle watching experience here which was educational, well organised and sensitive to the turtles and their environment. The hotel rooms were very convenient and it's definitely worth staying here as you get priority over external visitors and getting up at 5am is less of a hassle! The room was fairly basic - definitely not luxurious and quite dated. But that was not the main reason to visit. Beach and setting awesome too.

The mattress and pillows are terrible.
Its old dirty hotel. Restaurant are were disgusting.
Only good is the stuff there and too close to tortules.
But 15 mins far from beach
The restaurant food left to be desired especially given the price for the evening buffet. Otherwise the staff was very friendly and helpful and the tent we stayed in was great. Would recommence not having large families with noisy children in the tent area.
