Beautifully designed rooms, cleaned regularly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciate that it is off season but the variety for lunch and dinner was very limited. If it’s the same during peak season you’re better off doing breakfast only and go out to eat. Albufeira is pretty cheap.

Usually when a new resort opens there are gaps in their processes. This was absolutely the exception. The management, lounge and bar staff, and the house keeping crews had everything dialled in flawlessly. Grazie millé to the front of house and Abrigado to the entire team! Well done. The property was clean, and the staff was genuinely friendly and accommodating, which we appreciated. However, I was disappointed to learn that the hotel is not actually located on the beach — there’s a bridge you have to walk across to reach it. Additionally, it’s quite a distance from the Old Town of Albufeira, which made exploring the area less convenient. The dining options on-site were very limited, and what was available was surprisingly expensive given the mediocre quality of the food. As for entertainment, the resort offered very little — just two singers, one on Friday and another on Saturday night. The Friday performance was okay, but Saturday’s was honestly hard to sit through. Had I known the property wasn’t truly beachfront and lacked amenities and entertainment, I likely would have chosen a different location. It’s a decent stay if you’re looking for something quiet and minimal, but not ideal if you’re expecting a full resort experience.

Had an amazing stay at the Westin Salgados - the property was gorgeous, spotless, and perfectly located on one of the best beaches in the Algarve. We were there for the hotel’s 1 year anniversary and got to experience a complimentary yoga class and sound healing experience - it was awesome! Special shout out to Joao, the amazing server/bartender at the lobby bar who made our stay extra special. Highly recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Food was great as well!

The room had a beautiful view of pool and sea in distance. Quick access to beach via a boardwalk which allowed handicap access! The lanai restaurant was open for breakfast and was a tropical atmosphere with birds chirping and flying about. Loved the water cooler style machine in lobby for accessing to fill my water bottle.

Cold food at breakfast with flies in the food. Other guests had food poisoning. Rooms are dangerous and I had a serious accident where a moving wall gave way and I fell into a marble table and a 72" that fell and the marble smashed. Hotel was not sorry. Hotel pool is empty and derelict and full of tables and chairs rather than water. Jacuzzis are also broken and not working. do not go to this hotel if you want a spa or pool.

Five star property geared towards adults, lives up to its reputation of cleanliness, comfort, and luxury. The grounds are beautifully maintained and well landscaped. There are 6 outdoor swimming pools with an abundance of lounge chairs, umbrellas and daybeds- no need to reserve. Beach access with a lovely boardwalk from the hotel to the beach. The hotel has been renovated and is exceptionally clean. The only improvement would be the restaurant service. Though the food was very good, the service was extremely slow and unorganized. I would highly recommend. Lovely friendly staff.

Pool was green and not safe to swim in. No signs placed from staff to prevent or warn patrons and their kids from going in. Rooms were very clean but only cold water for my family's showers during half my stay with no explanation. This should not be the standard when paying top dollar for a 3 bedroom suite at a "5 star" resort.

Growing pains

This hotel has just reopened as the Westin about a month ago so they’re going through a bit of growing pains as they establish new operations. For example- the kids club was open but there’s no AC so it gets quite hot and they don’t have proper sign in papers yet. I messaged several times ahead of arrival (and upon booking) that we need a crib but they didn’t read the messages and we had to wait a bit after checking in for a crib to be delivered. It’ll be great later this summer but for now expect a bit of growing pains and patience with a very kind staff.
