I arrived with my son’s at property today (03.26.2024) @1AM due to flight delay. The front desk lady was clearly sleeping and in a bad mood.
She gave my sons and I a room far from the main entrance and after I checked the room’s window I realized that it didn’t close all the way, giving a chance to someone open the window and unlock the door, since the window was right next to the door.
I tried to call the front desk and the phone wasn’t working.
When I walked all the way to the front desk I asked if there was a way to check the window and lock it.
The answer was: “I can give you the refund for your room and you can go stay somewhere else, how about that?” The audacity to say “how about that” got me wondering: what hurt her?
I was in chock and disbelief how someone would talk to a customer like that. All I was requesting was to stay/feel safe. That was it.
I understand the hotel is cheap and I was there for just few hours. All I wanted was to have some rest to drive home in the early morning.
She also charged me a prepaid room $162.43. Normally the hotel keeps your CC for damages. She hated me so much for interrupting her sleep that made an actual charge on my card.
I’m reporting this to the corporation tomorrow.
