Amazing!!!!!
If you are lucky enough to find this little treasure, you’re lucky enough. The surprise lodging of my trip. When I rang the bell at the front door I wasn’t sure I was at the right place - then I walked inside and the world changed. History, class, comfort and service, all at a very affordable price.

Casa de Estoi is a hidden gem and the town itself is charming, quiet and picturesque. I stayed in the Jasmim room and it was beautiful with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom with a nice hot shower. The bar is in the former wine cellar and you serve yourself on the honor system. Breakfast is on the patio, delicious with a variety of choices. The Roman ruins are worth a look--I did not get to the Palace of Estoi. I am so glad I chose this off the path retreat for a taste of Portugal's past. Would definitely stay again! Highly recommend especially if you're tired of the bustle of the more touristy areas and want a genuine experience.

My brother and I were made to feel so incredibly welcome by Catarina at the hotel. She was so wonderfully attentive to the need of each guest and always on hand for any issue or questions we had about the local area. We would recommend Casa de Estoi for the impeccable service alone

We loved our stay at Casa de Estoi. Katrina, the manager, is a wonderful woman, who took such good care of us. The mansion is gorgeous, beautiful antiques and very comfortable. It is centrally located in the village, and easy to walk to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was very nice, fresh hot pastries, great bread and fresh fruit. We would definitely recommend this B&B for a wonderful relaxing visit.

Stay here, you won’t regret it :)
Why stay at a standard hotel when you can stay at a great old building with character? Was met at the door by the property manager with an almond aperitif. A quick tour of the house, which is a converted mansion owned by a former Mayor of the town. Has a free billiards table, bar (honor system), small pool, both inside and outside dining, and common areas. Wi-Fi on-site, parking across the street at the church lot. Included breakfast was cheese/meat (Brie & prosciutto), fresh OJ, coffee, cereal, pastries, and homemade cakes. Service was personable and warm and you could tell they really wanted to make your stay the best. Definitely would recommend :)

Charming and historic house, with exceptional host
Wonderful old building. No on-site parking but parking on street close by was easy. Catarina met us and showed us round after a welcome complimentary drink. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she explained the history of the place as we walked round. Our room was good and decorated in the way you’d expect for such a historic building. The bed, however, was not the most comfortable. Breakfast, taken in the converted stables, was basic but perfectly adequate. Didn’t need the fresh orange juice to be watered down though. There was an honesty bar where you helped yourself and noted on a sheet against your room name what you had taken. Not an idea that would take off in the more touristy hotels of the Algarve methinks!! Hotel had a small pool outside, but this looked more ornamental than functional, and far too cold in November anyway. Overall, an excellent one night stay en route inland, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to fellow travellers.

The welcome was very warm & friendly, lovely restored building, rooms comfortable but don’t expect 5* luxury as it is an old building with authentic furniture. Nice pool area. Staff very helpful. Rooms very clean. Small village outside of faro, it has a couple of bars and cafes but it is a quiet village.

Excellent B&B run by superhost, Caterina! 😉
One of the best holiday B&B properties l've ever stayed at, and l've been in quite a few! My sister-in-law and l were staying for the weekend in the beautiful, traditional town of Estoi! Casa da be Estoi checked all the boxes! Our suite overlooked the courtyard with its quaint swimming room.lt was clean, cosy and comfortable. Our host, Caterina, was excellent, so helpful and always willing to give advice. The ample breakfast was served in the Old Stables and freshly prepared on request! Perfectly situated to visit the Palace, Roman Ruins and, on the 2nd Sunday of every month, how fortunate we were, has one of the biggest, local, open-air markets to visit! Plenty of excellent restaurants in the vicinity for dinner too! We would most certainly stay there again! Highly recommended!

Our stay at Casa de Estoi a unique and lovely experience. Catarina was a gracious and helpful host. She recommended a local restaurant for lunch when we arrived and it was a true immersion into local culture. The food was delicious at a very low cost. The house has an old world charm. It was clean overall (bathrooms, sheets floors but the furniture was old and soiled. The mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. The grounds were in disrepair and in need of painting and weeding.

Catarina is a lovely hostess. Very friendly and gives great recommendations for restaurants and local attraction sites. Hotel is beautiful, well kept and clean. Lovely terraces and sitting areas. "Honesty Bar" jot down what you drink and pay later - added bonus of pool table downstair. Buffet breakfast was the best one! Do stay here. Best dinner yet in Portugal at Galeria Dos Sentidos.

Wonderful hotel, excellent service!
Loved the hotel and the hospitality that was extended. Close walk to the Palace and Roman Ruins ..not much else around. For that reason only, one night would be good here. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast and pool a plus. I have to mention Katarina...a wonderful person that makes you feel like part of her family. She even baked a delicious cake to add to the wonderful breakfast each day.

Great Hotel and area!
The house is a little like a museum. But the hosts were very clear that everything is to be used, not just looked at! We loved it! We slept great, The service was wonderful, and the breakfast was one of the best I have had in a long time at a hotel. The area was quiet and there was a great restaurant just 80 meters down the street that was awesome!! It is called O Belo Sol. The portions were big, the taste was the best of our trip, and the prices were very good! If you stay here, eat at O Belo Sol. You will be happy you did. 🙂

Relaxing Stay at Casa Estoi
Really enjoyed our stay at Casa Estoi. We were there for five days. Location is wonderful. Our host Catarina was very hospitable and attentive, and made our stay really nice. One suggestion is for the Casa to install a clothes washing machine and dryer on the facility - they can even charge for this - which will be helpful for the people staying for a longer period.

Ageing Gracefully
The woman who manages the place was great. She took a long time to show us the place (it was a fascinating old house) and made sure we were comfortable. She also made a delicious breakfast. The outside of the place is a bit weathered, but the inside was much more attractive. Our room was small and the bed was a bit hard. Overall, the manager was more memorable than the hotel.

My husband and 2 girls had a lovely one nights stay at Casa De Estoi. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely Catarina and shown round the delightfully quaint property . The house has all the original family furniture etc. We stayed in the suite ,which was a wow from all 4 of us . It was so spacious , consisting of a sitting room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms . There is a small pool and secluded terrace area . This is the only area that we felt needed some slight tlc ;weeding and a lick of paint ... Breakfast is served in an undercover beautiful outside area . Breakfast was amazing. Catarina freshly bakes cakes and cooks eggs to your choice . There are homemade jams , fresh rolls, croissants, Portuguese tarts , cold meats, cheeses ,yogurts and fresh fruits . Fresh orange juice , coffee and a selection of teas are served too . Thank you so much for our enjoyable stay Catarina and for making us feel so welcome .

This is one of those little gems that you come across very occasionally and totally unexpectedly. Understated on the outside but ohh so charming on the inside. It's literally like staying in someone's manor house, because this is exactly what the house is/was. I'd read on a previous comment about the warm hospitality of the Katarina, the manager of the property and it was 100% accurate. Warm, kind and helpful, as well as being an excellent baker. I'd be very happy to stay here again; it's only 20 minutes or so north of Faro airport. Perfect for off-season exploring in the region when you are not going to spend all day at the beach. With only 7 suites, it fills up quickly at times. Oh, and the price is more than reasonable!

This is a delightful, charming and unusual historic property, sympathetically altered to provide guest accommodation and full of the original family furnishings and artifacts. This is not a soulless, dry, immaculate, bland pastiche of a conversion but a wonderful, quirky, occasionally slightly battered but always characterful reworking of a family home that delights at every turn. The breakfast buffet has a lovely range of fresh baking, fruits and breads and Catarina, the charming hostess, makes the most amazing orange cake. Her warm welcome, her gift of languages and the wonderful Portuguese sunshine make this a perfect place to stay.

The perfect getaway from busy Faro
Although the taxi ride from the airport got more and more remote, arrival at this gem of a small hotel was amazing. The star of the show is the wonderful and ever obliging housekeeper, Catarina. Nothing is too much trouble for her to fix. My room (the family suite) was like a home from home. Wonderful bed for a perfect nights sleep. The breakfast was delicious including Catarina’s heavenly orange cake and the sweetest fresh figs I’ve ever eaten. This is a place to totally chill out. Don’t come here looking for nightlight and bustle. Come to recharge tired minds and muscles and leave (reluctantly) suitably refreshed. My only minor complaint would be the outside space. A little paint and a tidy up would make this 5/5 also the pool is small but big enough to cool off in. I would not hesitate in recommending this and will try to go back myself one day soon.

Nice classical stay hotel in a local suburb
Hotel in located in a remote quiet suburb with a busy street, old homestead of a famous local familly, now a chique boutique hotel with limited rooms, no hotel parking, street side parking is not easy in early afternoon, but after late afternoon, many empty spots are seen, so be patient, to be able to move your car later after check in....access entry is a bit difficult into hotel, as well as taking luggage upstairs, classic cobbled entry steps, no lifts...lovely staff, moderate internet, good air con in room, but limited space and bag stowage, bathroom very good, bed is fine, but pillow choice is limited, room a bit small, but ok, good choice of breakfast in a farm homestead style....a bit noisy from street noise, but a pair of ear plugs will do fine...hotel being a house has all the lounges, play rooms, drink bar, and pools...so this is a classic hotel, a bit of bread and breakfast style, not your mass produced hotel chain style...
