"Lovely, beautiful little old fashioned lodge for self-catering tucked away behind thick gardens abutted to a lovely old building on the outskirts of Alnwick. Its self-catering and had everything we needed, including good TV choice for the evenings and a strong wi-fi (in the lounge but not in kitchen). We just felt so at ease and relaxed in the evenings there. It may not be for everybody, say for example, those that like things to look modern. But for us with an eye to more homely back-in-the-day...

"Quirky property, despite unlevel floors and some low ceilings was spacious. Would have been nice to have more than 1 loo role for a few nights with a family. Great location and plenty of room for hide and seek!"

"Lodge was easy to find and access from email instructions. Love the decor/styling. Kitchen was well kitted out and a great shower. Good TV, comfy sofa. Small secure outdoor space was fine for small dog to potter out. Highly recommend for a couple. Very handy for town centre, Alnwick Castle and parkrun Heaters seems to constantly click loudly so options were a disrupted sleep or being a bit cold overnight. Parking would be tricky in peak season but <5mins walk. "

"Had a lovely stay at the property, had everything that we needed. Especially nice to have a designated parking space. Good base to explore the area. Just need to hoover under the beds, I dropped my brush under the bed and it looked a bit dusty!"

"The booking process was chaotic and tainted the whole experience. Booked a two night stay paying in full through hotels.com. Following day received acknowledgement from travelstaytion acknowledging payment of a considerably lesser amount. Then an email from Host and Stay raising a damage waiver which we were unaware of. An expensive insurance for a two night stay the alternative being an expensive bond refundable less an admin fee. Emails from companies you haven’t dealt with containing links...

"A real home from home, clearly much loved by the owners, the apartment was clean, very comfortable and full of lovely touches. Occupying a great position in Alnwick, it was perfectly placed for browsing the shops and sampling the various pubs and restaurants. The unexpected views of Alnwick castle from the bedroom window were quite spectacular. We would definitely like to return here again, which is not something we’ve said very often about a property over the years."
