"This place is gorgeous and so full of history. You are allowed to wander the grounds and explore which is so much fun.
My complaints mostly revolve around breakfast. They stop serving at exactly 9a, which was an hour before the front desk and the website said it did. There is no book with info in the rooms so we had no other way to verify. We missed breakfast the first day because of this. The next day we made it to breakfast only to find the options lacking. There is no fruit, yogurt or pastries. There are only eggs, sausage and potatoes, raisin bran, 2 types of instant oatmeal, waffles, bread and english muffins.
I also didnt like that I had to go to the front desk for linens for the pull-out sofa. Normally hotels have them in the room in a closet.
All of the staff was friendly but the lady on the Sunday evening shift must have been new because she really couldn’t help answer any of our questions. She also stood outside in front of the no smoking sign-smoking. She was on her phone every single time I went to the desk.
Overall, the place is a gem that I would stay at again(though the area doesnt offer much to do), but next time I would pack some of my own food so I have something healthy to eat at breakfast."
