Lodging on the Square

8/10 Good

"Lodging on the Square didn't happen like I had reserved. When we pulled in the property it said to check in at the Berlin Heritage motel on the west end of town. When I arrived and checked in I was informed that our room was at the Berlin Heritage and not the Lodging on the Square. Which ended up a better place. A traffic light at the entrance made it an easy come and go especially during the busier and traffic congested time of day. I had reservations for a king bedroom but our room had 2 queen beds."

"My mom and I took a getaway for her 80th birthday and stayed at Sugarcreek Village Inn. The room was spotless and even smelled clean. It appeared to have been recently updated with comfortable and tasteful decor. The bed was very comfy. We felt very safe and secure as you need two codes to get into the building and then into the room. The massage chair was an added bonus. They provide ice and water which we were very grateful for.If I were to recommend anything, it would be to have a couple chairs and a small table in the room. We brought dinner back to the Inn, but there was nowhere in the room to eat it. It didn’t matter to us because the big beautiful porch had tables that we could sit at to eat since the weather was nice, but that could be a problem for people visiting in the winter. Better lighting in the bathroom would also helpful. The instructions on getting in the building and checking out are on a little card that they provide at check-in. I ran into several folks that did not know how to check out or get into the building. Perhaps mentioning this at check-in could help with the confusion. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle, but close to anything you need. We met some very nice people here and would 100% recommend this for someone looking for a quiet, comfortable friendly place to stay."

"It is a beautiful hotel. The staff was wonderful. The restaurant is great. Our disappointment was in the room for the large price we paid. The room was much smaller than others. It did not have a microwave or fridge. The shower was dangerously small and extremely slippery. No hand rails at all. ( has towel racks on glass door but can’t use as a hand rails or it would break the door) The slippery fiberglass floor in the shower had no ridges or protective grooves. Very easy to fall. I know from experience. But beautiful setting and wonderful staff."
