Our family stayed at the Carlton for 3 nights and the overall quality and staff services were great. The free offside parking is within a manageable walking distance. The hot water system does need a bit improvement since letting the water runs 3-5 minutes in order to get the actual hot water before shower isn't environmental and water resource friendly for a hotel property. However, I would still add the Carlton to my hotel list in Taichung.

Excellent location. Room was spacious and mostly updated (except for the carpet). Bed was comfortable. The breakfast was pretty decent for a Taiwanese hotel breakfast standards. Parking entrance is separate around the block, but it does connect with the hotel elevator. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend and come back.
