"I always stay at the Barcelo in Madrid. So, when I saw that they recently opened in Monterey, I booked a room for 2 nights. However, they took over this hotel in December from another group, and it was not comparable to the Madrid experience. The hotel bar was really bad! However, the breakfast was TOP, and the service from all employees, except 1, was excellent. Apparently, the computer system did not work when I checked in, so I did not have credit. They did not advise me. When they closed the bar they could not close the room charge and called my room at midnight, when I was sleeping. That really destroyed my night! The room 3505 was large and absolutely great. Overall, it was good and acceptable."

"I have a child with autism and upon check-in my son was throwing up and there was no room available so my son threw up in the restroom and threw up close to the lobby, but on the commercial mall area and we reek of throw up and we waited about two hours there was still no room. At this point, I even offered to pay extra to get a room early because my son was very ill and still no room was available. Finally about 2 o’clock there was a room available. The room was not up to par to what I am used to, and there was hair balls in every corner of the room. The restroom was a bit dirty. None of the chrome had been cleaned or shined the toilet cover door kept coming down and so I couldn’t use the restroom comfortably."

"Positiv: Parkplatz abgegrenzt mit Pförtner; grosser Kühlschrank; sauberes Zimmer; gutes Bett nicht durchgelegen; saubere Kochplatten und Küchenzeile; Nichtraucher Hotel; keine Tiere im Hotel; Airport gut erreichbar Negativ: etwas abgewohnt- aber man kann sich wohlfühlen; Restaurants nicht in näherer Umgebung; Klimagerät etwas laut aber gut funktionsfähig; Zimmerreinigung nur alle 7 Tage; Einkaufszentrum etwas weit weg Summasumarum: gutes Hotel für den Preis. Es ist kein Hilton, aber auch keine Absteige. Ich habe mich für Wochen wohl gefühlt. Empfehlenswert. Zimmer 404"

"You can’t check in until 3 pm literally they will say they have no rooms available until 3 pm. If you arrive 30 min early they don’t care. Hotel staff is not welcoming at all. Yes check in is a standard for hotels at 3 pm but there is no way that there are no people waiting for a room and that one is not available."

"Nothing, Nothing , Nothing. Avoid at all cost. Don’t event book. Worse service, AC Not Working in 3 rooms they gave me. First room sealing was falling off and water leaking everywhere. Checked in at 11pm. And was not able to get a good room till 3pm. Horrible."
