"The property is very close to the old town and has a lovely pool and nice balconies to enjoy in the rooms. There is secure parking for a small fee as well."
"It's not a hotel, it's apartments for tourists. The location is superb, with supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The decor is beautiful and elegant. It's unfortunate that the management overlooks several details, such as dishes left unputdownable in the washing machine, a lack of coffee, clean but stained towels, and a leaky air conditioner. I maintain that the place is lovely, but in my opinion, poorly managed."
"The Mercure Arles is in a perfect position to explore the old part of Arles on foot. The only cars allowed in the old part are those owned by people who live there, so walking is the only way to explore. It’s a lot of fun exploring the narrow streets and there’s plenty of places to rest along the way. The Mercure is clean, the rooms are not big but adequate and the every staff member we encountered was professional, helpful and engaging. The amenities are basic, just hand and body wash, which appears to be the case in most French Mercure Hotels. There was no fridge in our room which we found very unusual and medication needed to be handed to staff for refrigeration which was a little inconvenient. We ate at the restaurant but there are many more better places to eat that have a more diverse menu. I think the restaurant mainly caters to French coach tours and it is probably more suited to that clientele. If position is important in your travel plans then Mercure Arles is very well placed."
"Nice country setting with easy drive into Arles. Very accommodating and friendly host. Super quiet and dark at night. Note that although Pascal no longer offers dinner, there is a refrigerator and microwave that she encourages guests to use. Comfortable bed, but the pillows are hard. There is no overhead shower, but there is a handheld sprayer in the bathtub."
"The bed was not comfortable, it felt like a futon. The room was very clean and otherwise comfortable. Nice shower.
Checkin time was posted at 2:00 but our room was not ready until 2:30. No explanation was given for the delay. The desk representative asked me if I paid for breakfast (I did) but it took her a long time to verify that.
At about 3:00AM we were woken by a fire alarm! It took a minute or two to hear because of was wearing earplugs (had to keep the window open because it was warm and air conditioning was not available in May). We quickly dressed and joined throngs of people in the stairs. The alarm continued. No one at the desk. No emergency services people. Nothing. After about 15 minutes the alarm stopped. No announcement, no explanation and after another few minutes people started going back to their rooms.
It was frightening and aggravating to have no information at all. There were a lot of families with young children. I hate to think what might have happened if this was a real emergency."
"The hotel / room / bedding and property were clean. The staff were cheerful, polite and helpful. There was a bit of noise due to a group of chaperoned teenagers staying on the same floor... Loud talking / laughing / running in the hallway, door slamming, etc. The pool was open, and i was told that the restaurant was closed for meals other than breakfast."
"The room was very clean and sufficient for a two-night stay. The location in relation to city center could be better but it is very accessible by buses and brief walk. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Thank you. Martink"
