"You get what you pay for. The Inn was probably built in the 70s and was very unattractive. The room was cheap. The check in was underwhelming, the room smelt of dampness, mould and cheap detergent. I never took my shoes off due to the dirty carpet and brown stains on the bathroom floor. There were black hairs all over the bathroom and in one of the beds and may be others but we chose not to look. Light came through the bedroom blind. The bar was full of tvs showing football, loud music and clientele shoving each other and swearing. I had to laugh at the sign in the room that said book again."

"I didn't feel that the hotel lived up to its claim to be one of the leading hotels in Birmingham. That might have been true once, but I got the impression it had fallen on leaner times since then. The decor looked dated and in need of a makeover. The dining room was cold and windowless. Dinner was adequate but unremarkable. Staffing appeared to be minimal, as bar and breakfast staff were hard to locate. Twice we had to call out - fruitlessly - for someone to serve us at an apparently deserted bar. There was an over-reliance on plastic flowers. My overall view is that with the right injection of funding, the hotel could do better. On the plus side, my room was clean and comfortable and parking was ample."

"We were in room 2 , an accessible room on the ground floor. The room had a lighting bollard outside the window that shone brightly through the curtains all night. Black out blinds are needed."

"On entering room.. toilet lid off & stood next to toilet on the floor & bin in bedroom contained someone's pink false nails!! Obviously not clean or maintained. Reported to reception & had a standard reply of " I'll inform maintenance" doesn't really address the issues WE experienced did it!"

"Stay clear! Don’t know when the photos were taken but it’s not like that now! We arrived at house and knocked door to get access to lodge… no answer! Just a faded note we couldn’t read and guttering falling around front door. Anyway thought we would go to lodge to see if we could find anyone only to find mouldy doors, cracked dirty render, rusty cars in parking area and piles of junk outside every door to lodges! Hence we left and booked a holiday inn which was good! I’ve asked for a refund only to be told I should’ve cancelled 24 hours in advance…. Obviously if I knew I wouldn’t have booked it in the first place! The pictures advertising this property are not a real reflection of the place… it is being missold and I would advise everyone to save there money! We didn’t make it in the room that’s how bad it was! I was embarrassed I took my partner there! I hope the owner reads this after denying my refund! 😁"
