"Super cute, comfy, beautiful property and wildlife. Clean and maintained. Our sink didn’t drain, we called to fix it. Never happened. Service definitely could improve. Not a service based property. Lots of “no” answers because they can’t be bothered to help. We were alone in the bar and still we had to jump through hoops to get a room service snack to be allowed at the pool area. In the end we were told yes by one person and no by another. We ate it there anyway. Gondwanda glass bottled water was available in the rooms but could not be offered in the bar or restaurant. No agua con gas available at the bar but you could have it in the restaurant. Bartender made no efforts for better service. Lazy. A dual massage was booked and one person got over an hour and the other got under an hour. Inconsistent service. The rest was amazing. Just don’t expect anything above asi no más for service unless you make a fuss. The check in girls and cleaning ladies were great. Went out of their way to help make the stay great. "
"We booked Villa Maria via Expedia based on a recommendation and the beautiful photos shown online. Only after booking did we notice “Casa La Lilia” mentioned in the name.
The hotel presents itself as two houses “100 meters apart,” but this is very misleading. The main property (on the lake, with pool and views) is clearly what’s shown in the photos. Casa Lilia, where we were placed, is a completely different experience—an old house up a very steep hill, surrounded by other buildings, with no view, no pool, and no restaurant.
After arriving and unloading our luggage at the main hotel, we were told to put everything back in the car and drive uphill to a separate location. This was never made clear at booking.
We tried to cancel but were refused a refund, so we had no choice but to stay. As an older couple, going up and down the steep hill for meals or facilities was not practical, so we felt stuck.
This is misleading marketing. If these are two properties of very different standards, they should be advertised separately—not sold using the same photos."
