I strongly advise against booking a room at this hotel, as we had a terrible experience during our recent stay in Austin. Not only were we informed upon arrival that our reservation had been canceled by a third party, which we later found out was untrue, but we were also left without a room during a sold-out weekend in Austin.
To make matters worse, we discovered that there were at least half a dozen other couples who had been subjected to the same treatment by the hotel. The complete lack of concern for our well-being was extremely disappointing, and it is unacceptable for any hotel to overbook its rooms and leave its guests stranded without a place to stay.
Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to avoid the risk of having their reservation canceled just hours before check-in.
I must also mention the off-putting behavior of the hotel staff during this situation. If you don’t mind being subjected to a constant sales pitch for a timeshare package that the hotel is affiliated with then by all means, stay. The whole experience while we waited in the lobby for hotels.com to work on finding us another property we saw other people subject to pushy and insincere attempts to sell something, and it left us feeling uncomfortable and frustrated. Overall, the combination of the overbooking issue and the aggressive sales tactics made for a thoroughly unpleasant stay experience while it lasted, grateful that hotels.com was able to book us at a pleasant hotel.
