Aztec Ruins National Monument

Amazing Pueblo development that was built around 1100 AD and took about 30 years to build. Over 500 rooms and as much 4 stories high, some of stoneworks were restored in early 1930’s.

Very accessible monument. The office is in an old homestead.

Mistakenly named by early white settlers as 'Aztec' (Mexican civilization) ruins rather than from local indigenous tribes.
