"This hotel is a superb gem in Salt Rock. It is very nicely decorated properly making you feel as if you are in Provence. The rooms are stunning and the communal areas are great. I loved that the top pool gets sun light all day long making it perfect for lounging and tanning. The breakfast is great - amazing fried eggs !! The staff is super helpful and always smiling. The property is very close to the beach and about 15 min walk to restaurants bars and a grocery shop so you are all covered. I would stay here again in a whim"
"Room was clean, staff were very kind and very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend it to people staying 1/2 nights. Very central and ubers easily accessible."
"Beautiful view right on the beach. You can hear waves crashing at night. Property needs a little bit of maintenance work, especially for such a beautiful location."
"The most important part was the beds ,they were uncomfortable and uneven , did not have a good sleep at all, will not be back , the stay was quiet pricey"
Penthouse 712 at La Montagne by First Private Stays
8/10 Good
"I booked penthouse very nice rooms kitchen and dining areas , jacuzzi was nice as well however the wifi worst I have come across in along time almost non existent , response to complaints not good at all , squash courts were not available , the resort is very clean all round even thou they busy with renovations , check inn was a bit unprofessional but overall good location and had a good time "
"We had a really memorable stay at this beautifully situated hotel. The setting is genuinely special - it feels like something out of The Jungle Book, surrounded by lush greenery with crystal-clear pools that create a relaxing, almost magical atmosphere. The standout for us was the team; the staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and genuinely caring throughout our stay, which made a big difference.
The amenities across the resort are exceptional. The “Valley of the Pools” and “Bushbuck Club” are fantastic spaces, catering brilliantly to both families and couples. These areas really elevate the overall experience and give the hotel a unique edge.
Where the hotel falls slightly short is in the upkeep of the hotel itself. While it does retain a certain charm and character, it did feel a little dated compared to the standard you might expect. Some of the modern comforts were lacking – the shower pressure was quite weak, a few doors were stiff, and some handles were loo se. The furnishings, although perhaps intended to feel eclectic, came across more as mismatched and slightly out of place rather than thoughtfully styled.
Importantly, none of this detracted from our overall enjoyment, and we still had a fantastic stay. However, with some thoughtful investment and modernisation in the rooms, this hotel has the potential to move from a very good 4-star experience to a truly outstanding 5-star destination."
