Barnabrow House

Barnabrow House

10/10 Excellent
"To be honest, I wasn’t totally a fan of the decor or the cleanliness (the first night, I saw a spider web on the wall above the nightstand), and the noise of cars driving on the gravel road outside my window kept me awake. But the price couldn’t be beat and I loved the bed—once the cars stopped I had one of the best nights of sleep in ages."

"The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. It was very warm in the room. But, my biggest concern was that our bathroom window was on the fire scape and did not close or latch. Someone could have walked right into the room."

Lawlors Hotel

Lawlors Hotel

8/10 Good
"It's an ancient hotel building with a maze of narrow halls and wonky flooring covered in thickly padded tartan carpet. The rooms were nice and roomy enough, but no a/c or fans, though the windows let in enough of an ocean breeze to keep us cool. Area pubs are great, as was the hotel bar. Everything is walkable but it's not a tourist town. People live there and the shops reflect that."
