"We had a very warm arrival and our room was ready early but unfortunately when we arrived the to Iโ€™ll et hadnโ€™t been flushed so worryingly not cleaned. I mentioned this to reception staff and we were offered another room but chose to have toilet cleaned as we had already unpacked. The bedrooms are in need of an upgrade and I canโ€™t wait to see what they do as the decor in The Leaping Hound bar/restaurant is absolutely stunning. We had delicious scones, coffee and Prosecco on arrival then returned for pre dinner cocktail which were absolutely delicious. I hope they light the fires in the adult only sitting areas as this would be extremely cosy in the winter. Our meal in Fratellis was delicious. The decor in here is beautiful with atmospheric lighting and tables spaced nicely apart. The beds were extremely comfortable but I hope they do soundproofing on the rooms when upgrading as we were woken up by doors banging and children crying after midnight. This hotel very much caters for family stays and I was disappointed to see they no longer have spa treatments as this used to be a highlight of this hotel. The breakfast staff were again fantastic. A nice choice but the cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious! Tasted like a home cooked breakfast."
