The room and interior of building was for the most part cared for. The elevator floor was the main elevator and was visibly dirty our entire stay, 3 nights... same dirt and spills. We did not see any bed bugs or roaches as we read in Google reviews... you have to read those as well, not just Expedia's and search Google pictures from individuals. The pictures are quite deceiving otherwise. We learned the hard way. Outside there was trash across the property, the parking lot and grounds were trashed.
The 2 VERY specific reasons for chosing this location was for the indoor pool, which was closed and as evident by the color of the water, it had been closed for long time (a well lit pond)... and the "breakfast"... do it yourself waffles and very hard boiled eggs EVERY morning. We chose it for those 2 amenities, knowing we would have to drive a little further to spend time with our family who live in the area... complete disappointment for the whole family especially my young son.
As for staff, not one smiled or was approachable, not one person cared about how our stay was, clearly as no one asked. We left our initial feedback of our check-in and did not hear from anyone, specifically the manager, in regard to our disappointment. Quite honestly, we were booked and paid for 3 nights and were fearful to stir up any trouble/concerns as we feared retaliation.
