Very friendly staff and the location was decent, about 1 hr from Acadia and Bar Harbor. It is a steal compared to the Hotels near the National Park. The hotel is dated but clean. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is due to the beds!!! The most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever encountered at any hotel in my 48 years on Earth. My wife and I woke up in pain and needing to take pain meds to make it through the day. The bed, the floor, no difference…If you like a FIRM bed this will be no problem for you. Staff were great, room was clean, The mattresses were just unbearable.

Room was ok. The bathroom door difficult to use. Felt like going to get stuck in there. Restaurant had good food. They had music playing in the restaurant and it was too loud. Front staff were unhelpful when first arrived. Claimed on the water and wasn’t. We checked out the next day and didn’t receive a refund. Poor customer service

Staff and visitor Hospitality was fantastic! We were an overnight stay this time, but will definitely keep the Fireside on our schedule stay over next year but plan to stay over 2 nights at minimum. Great place to great people!

This inn is definitely vintage! Loved the 'look' (personally, I am tired of the big chains with each room the same!) Very quaint but clean. There is a big coffee maker / machine in the hall for your morning brew. Comfy beds, nice TV, quiet location. Attached to the inn is a great Irish pub with amazing food (not open for breakfast). Across the parking lot and one road is a casino. Close to the airport but not so close the plane traffic interferes with sleep. If I ever get back to Bangor, I will be staying here!!

Had a good stay here, it’s not super fancy and parts of the building are a bit old (like the carpet) but I had a good stay. The pub attached to it is very good, it’s close to the casino and there’s lots of places to go shopping nearby.

We stayed over for the marathon weekend in Bangor and had two rooms- one with carpet and one with new flooring. The carpet room had a smell... glad they are switching over to faux wood flooring! This is an older hotel, but the it was just fine for us. beds were comfy and sheets fresh and clean. They were very accomodating with our need to check out later as marathon began at 7 am- we needed an extra hour so my son could shower and get on the road back home five hours away. thank you!
