We stayed in a Superior Double room (18). The mattress was terrible, old a saggy, resulting in a terrible nights sleep, definitely needs changing. Also bedside lamp had no bulb in it meaning us having to swap lamps around.

Good size room, cleanliness and located in the centre of town. Free parking at the hotel.

All excellent following the refurb. Only constructive feedback we would give is if hotel not full and not too many for breakfast to serve this to order for the cooked items as ours were barely lukewarm. Am sure that could reduce wastage and so costs and customer satisfaction.

Over all nice place to stay. A little dated and a few cob Webs.
Bed comfortable bathroom clean great shower bedroom nice and warm too warm turned the heating down.
Limited evening menu but lots of bars and restaurants in the local area.
Freshly cooked breakfast to order.
I’m a light sleeper and they gave me a room to the back of the property which was ok however the window did not close tight enough so I could here traffic noise and the bin lorry Monday morning, however this did not make it a terrible or bad stay.
Over all yes would stay again.

Worst nights sleep to date! I am guessing there is something loose on the roof and the wind is blowing it. This is the second time I have had a terrible night at this hotel. Basingstoke really does lack affordable hotels. Think I will be forced to sleep in my car next time! At least I will get a better night sleep.

The rooms were clean tidy but a little tired. The beds were comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Altogether a good experience.

The main problem we had stemmed from the fact there are two Red Lion Hotels on Red Lion Lane.
Our SATNAV took us to the wrong one. It was frustrating as we had taken 6 1/2 hours to get from Manchester
However when we finally got to the correct one the hotel was fine

We had such an amazing stay at the Red Lion, the rooms were spacious, the bathroom was very nice, bed was comfortable and we loved that it was also short and easy walk to restaurants, cafes and transportation. The staff were so lovely from check-in and the duration of our stay.
I would definitely stay here again

The Hotel is centrally located in Basingstoke and is ideally situated if You are attending a performance at The Haymarket Theatre as it is a mere 2 minute walk away. Complimentary parking is also provided for the duration of your stay which in My case was overnight.Getting in from the cold it was pleasing to find that the heating was on in the 3rd floor room which I had been allocated.

The Red Lion Hotel has been my go-to hotel in Basingstoke for a few years. It's in a great location near the top of town and Festival Place. The room was pleasant and clean, there's adequate free parking, and breakfast was nice and reasonably priced. There are cheaper hotels, but you get what you pay for.

good spacious room, cleaned daily. Lovely people working everywhere in the hotel. good breakfast every morning.
The hotel is in the centre of the town and the parking at the hotel is free. would use this hotel again if we visit anywhere near Basingstoke again.

All was good, friendly staff, great breakfast. Big car park and comfy beds. Walking distance to pubs and restaurants and 6 or 7 Turkish hairdressers.
Where is GB News on the TV?
Not available on their package I was told.
Sorry I probably won't return as I don't subscribe to the main stream propaganda.
